I, Daniel Blake is a powerful new film directed by Ken Loach highlighting the bureaucracy and humiliation those claiming Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) and other benefits have to face and the sanctions culture.
John McDonnell MP and the Labour Party are supporting 'I, Daniel Blake Day' on 17th November with hundreds of special screenings around the country to show #WeAreAllDanielBlake, the week before Tories introduce their plans to cut ESA. We are calling on the government to reverse those cuts.
There are three screenings of the film on 17th November in Southwark:
- 10.10am at East Dulwich Picturehouse - confirm you're attending here
- 5.45pm at Odeon Surrey Quays - confirm you're attending here
- 9.10pm at Peckham Multiplex - confirm you're attending here
If you would like to watch the film as part of this national event, you will need to buy your tickets direct at the normal rate from the cinema.
If you would like to pick up special Labour campaign materials to campaign on ESA cuts, please email email@example.com. They will be available the day before. Please remember that you must not campaign on private cinema property.
As well as handing out leaflets please take the opportunity to share your campaign pictures and messages on social media using #stopESAcuts and #IDanielBlake
